Program Coordinator

The Wallace Centers of Iowa (WCI) is seeking a Part-Time Program Coordinator with an interest in agriculture, local foods, civility and history and the ability to develop and implement interesting and engaging programming. This position will be based at the rural Orient location. Applications can be mailed or emailed.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree OR extensive experience in adult and youth programming, teaching, creative problem solving, and examples of collaborations including team building. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must also have a valid driver’s license.

The Program Coordinator will manage and expand existing programs (such as the Prairie Art Exhibit and Festival), build new programming (both signature series and one-time programs/events), and build/expand partnerships. As a nonprofit organization, the programming will need to focus on our mission, assets and other work including sustainable agriculture, conservation/prairies, local foods, civility, history and the intersection of two or more of these areas. Most new programming will occur at the Country Life Center. Coordination with the Chef/Foods Program Manager, Farm Manager and Site Manager will be critical.

Chef/Food Programs Manager

The Wallace Centers of Iowa (WCI) is seeking a Chef/Food Programs Manager who is educated in the culinary arts with an interest in local foods, the ability to develop food programming, and the initiative to develop food products. This position will be located at the rural Orient location. Applications can be mailed or emailed.

Qualifications:  Minimum associate in applied science degree in the culinary arts OR extensive experience in commercial food preparation, evidence of teaching ability, examples of collaborations including team building, and creative problem solving experience. Must be able to work Friday evenings and weekends as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must also have a valid driver’s license.
