An ideal location for any special event

The rolling hills of southwest Iowa serve as a peaceful backdrop for events at the Gathering Barn, located at the historic birthplace farm of Henry A. Wallace. Constructed to resemble typical Iowa barns of the late 1800s, the Gathering Barn can accommodate business, family, and social gatherings with amenities such as air-conditioning, rest rooms, and handicapped accessibility. A large outdoor deck provides a picturesque view that will inspire all types of working meetings and enhance any gathering. The one-mile walking trail connects the barn to the restored Iowa prairie, outdoor sculptures, pond, orchard, and vegetable gardens.

Indoor and outdoor spaces can be combined to fit nearly any sized gathering. The barn’s Gathering Room accommodates groups of up to 65 seated at round and rectangle tables or up to 90 theatre-style. The upstairs meeting room seats 30 to 35. Access to the second floor is by stairs or a small lift.

Our chef will create an out-of-the-ordinary menu to fit your taste and budget.  Menus are designed to highlight local and seasonal ingredients. An experienced staff member will fulfill your expectations before and during your special day.
