Seasonal Dining at Historic Locations
Farm to Table dinners at the Wallace Centers of Iowa are rooted in a legacy that spans generations. From the late 1800s through the 1940s, the Wallace family lived and gathered at Wallace House while shaping the future of American agriculture and journalism. As farmers, innovators, and editors of Wallaces’ Farmer, they believed deeply in the connection between land, food, and community.
Today, that legacy lives on through our Farm to Table dining experiences. Each dinner features ingredients grown at the historic Wallace Farm near Orient and thoughtfully sourced from local Iowa farmers and producers. Menus change with the seasons, highlighting the freshest harvest and reflecting a deep respect for the land and the people who steward it.
Chef Gabe transforms fresh farm ingredients into a multi-course dinner that invite guests to slow down, share a table, and reconnect with where their food comes from. Our dinners are a celebration of Iowa agriculture, innovation, and the enduring Wallace belief that good food can nourish both people and place.
Dinners at the Wallace House are BYOB. You can bring your own wine or beer without a corkage fee. Dinners at the Wallace Farm include a bar with wine and beer available for purchase.
Doors typically open at 6 pm with dinner service starting at 6:30 pm.
