Hold Your Next Event in a Victorian Setting
Originally constructed in 1882, the Wallace House has been restored to a fine example of a Victorian residence. “Uncle Henry” and Nancy Cantwell Wallace lived in the house in 1895 when they founded Wallaces’ Farmer, a farm journal. It is now an important part of the Sherman Hill National Historic District in Des Moines. The first floor space provides a gracious, historic setting for gatherings of all kinds.
Capacity: 50 standing reception, 40 sit down meal, 30 seated “audience” (as for a wedding).
Catering: Food service will be provided by WCI Chef Katie Porter. Menus are designed to satisfy customers’ tastes and highlight local and seasonal ingredients. Contact Chef Katie to discuss menu ideas for your event by email or phone: 515.243.7063.
