SUMMARY:Seeds of Memory Sound Walk
DESCRIPTION:Open June 5 through September in 2026\, Seeds of Memory is a site-responsive sound installation by artists Anna Gebhardt and Philip Rabalais that transforms Wallace Farm into an immersive listening experience. \nCreated in honor of the 100-year anniversary of Henry A. Wallace founding Pioneer\, this sound walk invites you to walk the historic farm and prairie using your smartphone and headphones. Triggered by listeners’ movements\, recordings of piano\, voice\, saxophone\, and synthesized instruments automatically grow and evolve in response to seeds found throughout the site. \nFrom the pansies Henry A.’s mother used to teach him about cross-breeding to the hybrid corn varieties that helped shape the future of agriculture\, Seeds of Memory offers a new way to experience the stories\, sounds\, and living history of Wallace Farm. \nPlease note that we will have a limited number of headphones available to borrow during Pizza on the Prairie and when staff are on site during the week\, but we highly recommend you bring your own for a fully immersive experience. \nSupport for this project is provided by the Iowa Tourism Office and Iowa Arts Council\, which exist within the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

DESCRIPTION:July 10 2026 Pizza Menu \nWe’re looking forward to seeing you at Pizza on the Prairie at the Wallace Farm!\n \nReservations: Online reservations will open in June. A limited number of tickets are available each week so reservations are required for anyone age 18+. If online reservations are all booked\, call 515.243.7063 or email our team if you’d like to be on the wait list. Space may become available late in the week. \nDeposit: No deposit is required but please understand that no-shows greatly impact our event and nonprofit operations. We appreciate you letting us know if you aren’t able to make your reservation. \nOrdering: The grounds are open for visitors at any time during the day\, but each adult (aged 18+) in your group must reserve an ordering time. Orders are placed inside the Barn. Cash\, checks and credit cards are accepted. Choose a space on the lawn and your server will deliver food and drinks. Sorry\, no coolers\, outside food or drink permitted. \nWeather: In case of rain\, orders can be made to go. There is limited inside seating. \nPets: No pets except for service animals. Leashed dogs are typically welcome at the Wallace Farm except during events like Pizza on the Prairie.
